The other reason is that new characters just don't sell, which is a problem with the audience. They can't say "here's our brand new black female character" because comics fans literally only care about existing characters. That shit wouldn't even last 2 issues.

People need to realize that characters have to marinate before they get popular. It took Dead Pool nearly 20 years to get where he is now in pop culture and fandom. That's why its important to start establishing these characters now and support them. If you want more black heroes then but their shit when they come out with one. People want results on day one, that's not gonna happen.
