The competitive is pretty broken. People can leave the match without any consequences whatsoever whenever they want, and the characters aren't locked when someone picks them, so you can go against a team full of Meis and they'll beat the shit out of you.
Still, it's more fun than the base game for me at least, because of the same thing of the mindset.
