Legacy of the Wizard. I've found few games with more satisfying exploration.
Note that, as with many games from that era, you'll need to look at the manual or something to even know what your objective is. There isn't an intro or tutorial or anything.

Seconding this, good game. Only thing I hated was how often the game cockblocked you when you were exploring. Lets you see too much before telling you to fuck off until you have the right item. Also managed to trap myself not once but twice by sequence breaking with the grappling hook. Bosses and music were awesome.

La Mulana is okay if you use a guide or diligently record every clue. The Swapper is good too.
