I just remember the gunplay being so hokey and awkward and badly implemented. SMG and shotgun spray was so awful it rendered them useless. And I specifically remember a pistol skill you could get early on that pretty much broke the game and made every encounter afterwards a joke.
I also remember being tied down to a table and a thick Russian lady coming in and riding my dick. Which is part of why I remember the game so fondly despite said combat gripes.

SEGA literally gave Binary Domain away for free. It peaks at a whopping 50 people on Steam. Resident Evil 6 was released the same year, and peaks at over 1,000 people every day on Steam. (In fact, RE6 has more players on average than RE4 and RE5 put together.)

Wouldn't say it's underrated but way too few people have played it and it never got any major coverage, it's probably the best movie game ever made. Also it has that Vice City, San andreas, manhunt and bully charm of that R* era, I have no idea why it isn't more popular.

I've always found so criminal how underrated the whole Brothers in Arms franchise was.
In the era of WW2 shooters, this had a lot of good points that made it unique: Sort of decent realism for the time, squad mechanics and tactics, and the selling point was just how good the story was. It sort of tries to give you the same feeling of 'war is hell' that Red Orchestra strives for.
Overall, it isn't a 10/10 game because of how repetitive the maps are, but it sure as hell was just as good as playing any other Medal of Honor or Call of Duty

I own this game and just passed it a month ago. Its a great multiplayer game. Was a better Live game. Now that singleplayer is all you can play its just okay. the 120something levels are just the same 5 zones but with different scenarios and moves. It really gets tedious. The story is pretty elder god tier though. Its what kept me playing. While there are very few levels they are done by the Panzer Dragoon guy so they are pretty rad. I hear its getting a Download only release soon.

They actullly nailed all good stuff from jrpg, you have postapocaliptic junker girl, prince swordsman, robot dog, handicapped gadget girl and so on in team (and all of them take a part in plot), lots of spell and summons (and it's like a card game, each character can use a collectible card so 'affect all + heal + reverse' damage enemies), challenging fights where you should learn weakness of enemy. Battle system is like ATB with three action points, so you can make one shot or wait and use an grenade launcher later. Battles happens on map like crono cross, no random encounters.
