ive been playing them lately and honestly DQ I is testament that less is more. the following games keep adding stuff but in the end it only drags down both the gameplay and the game as a whole.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoy the grind, but the party mechanics in 3 and the different compositions are real fun, and the multiple worlds are awesome to explore, without going so overboard as some of the later games.
