It's a great game for a lot of reasons, I love it.
Give each stage a good try, but use a walkthrough if you get too stuck. Some parts are just silly.

That game is one of the hardest games I've ever played in my life. You have no idea on just how hair-tearingly difficult it can get but heres a hint: Theres a mission where you play old grandpa with a rifle, where you have to escort a dumb NPC through the map with a very strict, unforgiving time limit. And the catch is, theres 4 sniper shibitos with rifles in the map, 2 on roofs where you cant see, one flies around and last one is a puzzle in the end of the map where if you fuck up even once, you have to restart the whole mission.
Its a decent game with some serious gameplay problems that make it frustrating to play. But otherwise it has a lot of memorable moments, it reminds me of Junji Ito mangas a lot.

It's a shame, you can see what they were going for. You're right in the shit all the time, scared to move the tiniest inch. It's actively harsh in a scary way, that's pretty unlike any other horror games.
If they'd just kept it balanced and didn't have the levels fucking around with the rules, having certain enemies invincible at random, it'd have worked really well.

It's a stealth game faggot, combat is a last resort, you are meant to sneak past them.
I heard that Siren Blood Curse was much easier but it still gave me a hard time, some of the shit is ridiculously obtuse, and the fact you're nomally on a timer and facing ridiculously strong enemies very often doesn't help that.
Really scary purely because it was so unforgiving. Getting through a level fills you with intense relief.

Blood Curse is at least linear. In the original you can go back and play old levels, and you need to hunt down secret objectives and all sorts of dumb shit.
Blood Curse was ok, but making it linear was against the spirit of the original imo, and the original does all the same setpieces but a lot better.
