64gb cards cost more than what I paid for my vita, so I'm stuck with 16gb and swapping games from pc to vita when necessary.

My Vita was my happiest video game purchase since I built a second PC 5 years ago. Sold a bunch of 3DS games to buy it and don't regret it a bit, my 3DS has been collecting dust for pretty much years and I play my vita almost daily. Plus it still gets games all the time and it has a pretty damn huge library of games already. Definitely not a poorfag console though.

It's definitely dying/dead, but because of this, the amount of great deals you can get on digital software from PSN is amazing. I spent the first year of owning my Vita sitting on psprices.com, watching for vita deals. All the best games regularly go on sale for 50-75%.
I bought mine about 1 1/2 years ago, and aside from buying Borderlands - possibly the worst port of all time, no ragrets.

I'll recommend Atelier Ayesha since Atelier games rarely go on sale for vita.
In my honest opinion the Vita right now is the best of the two handhelds available.
The 3DS has some already known series like Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter and Prof. Layton but the Vita has a shitton of new IPs.
And the fact that the Vita has a way better hardware really makes a difference.
I have both and I can easily say I had more fun playing on my Vita. Shame that Sony didnt give it more attention else they could have killed the 3DS.

There are some problems, and things to consider.
Yes it's basically dead. Expect one more weak year.
Most games wont get localized at all.
The ones that do likely wont get physical releases.
The ones that get physical releases are typically on asia or europe.
Memory cards are crazy expensive.
All that said, it has some really awesome titles. If you can get the hardware for cheap, I think it's worth it. For me it's worth just being a Vanillaware machine, Muramasa, Odin Sphere, Dragons Crown, and a new game announced.Stuff like Persona 4 is fantastic. Lots of MonHun games ranging from meh, to pretty good. There's also some other titles.
So just look at the game, and consider if you care a lot about physical games if it's too annoying trying to afford and import most of it, or if you are digital if you can afford the memory card.

That probably played a role but MH is likely locked down now by contract by Nintendo to keep it off the Vita in the west since Vita dose have MH but only in JP, that may change with Nintendos new device though where Capcom will opt for it to go multiplat instead of waiting for Nintendos new installbase to build and weather it dose is another question. The vita for all intents and purposes is just approaching it's mid cycle, it's very different to the 3DS in that regard and Sony consoles/handhelds have always played the long game. By the time the new handheld comes around Capcom should push for a multiplat release provided the original contract didn't cover Nintendos new handheld as well regardless of it's circumstance. Capcom knows that focused on handhelds for so long will have shitty long term consequences for their relevancy and recognition as a company in the industry. I am hoping for a MH release on console where it belongs or at the very least Vita but it all depends on what Capcom has agree to with Nintendo.

People vote with their money and the fact that the Vita sold 5 million compared to the 3DS where it sold 60 millions says a lot about how much superior the games are on the 3DS and how much support the 3DS gets in terms of amount and quality of games compared to the Vita that barely gets anything announced for it at all.

I have a 3ds and like plenty of the games on it, but MH is dogshit lined with artificial difficulty, forced grinding, and a whole lot of slow, boring, archaic gameplay that refuses to move forward beyond a few gimmicks with each entry. The only challenge is getting complacent or falling asleep during the 40 minutes it takes to kill something. There are so many clones at this point that do its job much better because they aren't afraid to be innovative.

It's pretty good, you can just download the demo if you're unsure. You can transfer the demo save data to the real game afterwards if you decide that you like it.
I only find worth buying the Vita if you are one of the following:

When i first bought the Vita the PS4 wasn't even announced so i was fine with it, PS1 and PSP games plus some good exclusives like Tearaway, Gravity Rush or Killzone Mercenaries, but when the PS4 came out and the Vita started to lose its exclusives it lost its purpose, i only use it to play PS1 games now
