This to be fair. The last round of DLC was great, but it left me wanting more after seeing how Bayonetta was implemented.

Bayonetta from a business standpoint makes alot of sense for a 3rd party pick.

It just made the most sense if we were getting another 3rd party rep.
I'm more surprised that Corrin was the only newcomer from 1st party.
I suppose they want to save whatever they have left (Toad, Squids, Impa/Zelda character, etc.) for their next release.
Also, too many people wanted to vote for more veterans rather than newcomers so I expect them to make a big deal with returning vets next game like Ice Climbers.

Another thing that surprises me is that we have no word on the final 3 Smash Bros Amiibos' release.
Something tells me Nintendo has something planned for those 3 characters in regards to NX since we're getting new Mario / Splatoon amiibo before news of release dates of amiibo announced last December.

Konami would much sooner ask Nintendo to make a Smash Bros Pachinko machine than go back into the Vidya Gaem market.
Their one and only game this E3 was PES 2016 and it was just one small room. sitting by an empty hallway.

I think Bayonetta fits well in Smash, but there's no fucking way the Ballot influenced her getting in. Considering it ended in October and they had the character AND a stage done enough to show by December, especially since Sakurai always whined about how laborious a process it was to make a character, and it's clear the choice to put her in was premeditated.
In the end, though, most of us predicted this anyway. It was less of a true ballot for Smash and more of a marketing survey for Nintendo to use. Iwata even said the results would be taken into consideration "for future games", not explicitly "future Smash games".

also anyway, i'm a bit disappointed with how we only got 1 new character. Corrin was just to promote the new game, Smash has always been used as a way to promote FE and Cloud was in to promote his new game

And here we are, core game is good but the lack of versus / online versus multiplayer and controllers that have a learning curve to them definitely put a damper in SF0's presence.
