They were stupid/nonchalant about releasing so close to Overwatch. They WANTED it to get overshadowed. It's funny as hell.
They fucked up one time, wow, what a big deal. They'll get a new Publisher and release another game which will be a success again, probably Borderlands 3.

I still fire it up from time to time, but only on its own so it wouldn't show up in the stats. And the MP has been so fucking buggy and impossible to get working even vaguely reliably for me that it ended up being a real turn off.
It's too bad, there were a ton of great suggestions in the forums a while back, community had a lot of energy, even some simple stuff like a limited-command artifact would have given it a lot more life. If it had non-retarded MP, a few extra bug fixes and some minor sandbox boosts it'd still be going way stronger, but I think most people just gave up in the end.
It is a shame though.

Battleborn is a great game, but not as easy as Overwatch.
In Overwatch you just go pew pew pew no skill required and only have to know where the health packs are.
In Battleborn you have to know the map, the right equipment and how the different heroes work to enjoy the game. Battleborn has also perfect hit boxes and high ticks, which is a no go for casuals.
Battleborn is much better than Overwatch, but only if you want to invest time to learn the game.

I almost felt bad for Battleborn. I thought the game was f2p and they just wanted to create a fun little title and perhaps compete a little with Overwatch and whatnot.
