The game is choppy and buggy (especially in the menu) but it's still amazing. There are rarely annoying graphics glitches but you can just load an autosave and it'll fix it.

Going to Novigrad is awesome, although this gets contested a lot, and then fucking Skellige is my favourite part of the game.
The Baron is cool. He's a super flawed character and you move through some interesting plotlines as you progress through that section of the game. I'd say Keira's parts are the best in Velen though.

Manticore trumps everything obviously. I also like Bear 1 because it kinda does look like light armore honestly, moreso than Cat ironically. But I like to alternate between manticore and grandmaster wolf because they both look great

All depends on your combat preferences, or aesthetics I guess. I like Bear the most out of those four, followed by Wolf, then Cat and Griffin. Manticore looks the best out of all witcher gears though.

I cheated, gave myself a huge number of skill points, and tried a bunch of shit out. And I felt so gimped playing with signs.
Not only did I feel less effective than just running in and spinning to win, but the interruptions to my game constantly switching signs got pretty annoying after a while.

It becomes ridiculous with the Severance upgrade. You can basically safely snipe all the enemies with your animation canceling combo.
Did anyone else get a little chapped when they added set bonuses for the grandmaster gear?
Maybe its just me and my autism, but I had a hard time seeing those set bonuses greyed out, and ended up stopping mixing up the swords and armors I used, just so I had full set bonuses.

Novigrad is my least favourite part of the game. Smallest area and drags on forever. Velen was huge with lots to explore. Skellige is the most comfy part of the game though.

Spells do have AOE, especially on high level. Igni for example becomes a exploding fireball and have much better reach than W3 igni.
Yrden is also actually stronger than w3 yrden, because it is guaranteed to stun targets that are caught during attack animation (you could land multiple hits on stunned targets)
And you could attempt whirl-like/group style actions by attacking enemies from medium distance while facing perdendicular (to the left I think) to them.

Novigrad, I feel, is one of the few well executed examples of a city in an open world game. Big, interesting, lots to do and see, well executed districts.
They fuck up Oxenfurt, which is annoying. Supposed to be a pretty important city, yet its just a circle.

I'm not saying Novigrad was bad. Pretty much the whole W3 map is godly, it's just you get sick of walking through the same streets over and over again. Roaming the country side is much more enjoyable. That being said, Novigrad's surrounding farmland is pretty cool, but it's hardly used throughout the game.

I like strong attacks so I end up going Bear, because on a Dark Souls playstyle it's better to land a few powerful hits than a ton of weak ones.
A shame that your stamina regen is so sluggish on a full heavy set though

W3 has too much twirling, you can't time attacks and magic, whilst more limited in W3, is alot more satisfying to use in W2.
Stacking potions and turning Geralt into a god for 15 minutes is pretty satisfying aswell.
Really hate W3's alchemy and doing an alchemy build is boring in W3, despite getting some pretty great passive bonuses end game.

On the plus side, the only time the runewright is super useful, is when youre using the bear set. You get that enchantment that makes all your armor count as light, and youre set.

I liked prepping for battle. Getting your herbs before you set out was better than just being able to regen potions anywhere since alcohol is really common killed this aspect of the series.
Just met Letho. Didn't play 1 or 2. Decided to look him up and FUCK. I felt like I missed a bit of the characters from not playing 2, but after seeing him, I have to play 2.
30 hours in 3, should I hold off and play though 2. OR finish 3, go back and play 2 as a prequel, and then replay 3?

It kinda pissed me off that your W2 choices barely have any relevance in W3. Like one of the two major story paths is barely mentioned and none of it's major characters show up, making it feel like fan fiction.

In TW3 they go all out on the fanservice and pull a ton of characters from the books. I'm playing it again after reading The Last Wish and a bit of the Sword of Destiny and it's uncanny just how many references there are.

Well yeah, as I said it's like JoJo. You don't need to come into 4 knowing who Jotaro and Joesph are, but reading parts 2 and 3 will make you care about their characters more.
Seeing Joeseph evolve from a cocky young asshole to a kindly, senile old man, makes him a more likable and sympathetic character. Similarly, if you don't know Geralt's history with Triss, then the whole romance subplot is alot less engaging.

Yeah, I had a small idea of what happenedYou romance her after your memory was wiped, only to find out you had another lover, Yen, and it made things complicated. But I felt disconnected the entirety of the Novigrad section because of all of the character callbacks.
