You're lying. Overwatch was always extremely "toxic".
I have actually had the opposite experience. People obviously are taking ranked more seriously, but it's a lot more optimistic than free play was.

Got that all wrong. Comp mode now is what quick play was before comp mode existed.
Quick play now is a chill, beer and pretzels shooter. Comp mode is the containment zone for the mlg kiddies.

I often have this experience. I've encountered some of the OP's comments as well, but usually that's if there actually is a shit player who refuses to switch off a hero he sucks at. For example, a Reaper acting like he's a Soldier.

The toxicity I'm talking about is people talking shit at all. It's not about being thin skinned, that has nothing to do with anything. It's about people complaining about inane shit and behaving like idiots, specially when it's not even warranted. Like the matches last 5 minutes or whatever. I'd understand if some League of Legends fuck wants to whine about having wasted 50 minutes on a match, but here there's no point in saying anything. Most games used to go silent. Now not so much.

Like an offensive sniper or some shit that kills a bunch but doesn't kill the other sniper who's fucking your team, you'd get a bunch of gold medals but you're not doing anything to help the objective along.
