Steam Guard is fine. Takes 5 additional seconds to log in and works great as an additional security layer.
If you're logged out of the app on your phone, restart your phone and it'll auto log you in. You can also lock your phone the second you log in and it'll give you a notification with your code.

4 years ago it was grand, it literally translated to free vidya without needing more than a spare hour. You only needed to trade $5 in items for $5 in keys, then trade those to a ruskie for a free vidya back when region lock was not a thing.
