I had a run where I started as the one Whiteshirt who starts in York. By the end my empire covered just about every county except about half of India, mainly because I let my Kings become absurdly powerful and kept feeding them land. I had so many that it was easy to keep enough happy for the rest to avoid plotting against me, and they were all happy because I never raised crown authority much anyway. The best part is that a vassal's armies are completely raised in the province you raise them in, so I could give different duchies to different kings and raise most of my realm's troops on any border at any time.

Through legislation, it is now possible to empower women by allowing them to take positions on the council. Most council positions first become available to women related to the ruler (dynasty members, close relatives, wives, and concubines), landed vassals, and in some cases nuns.
At the second highest level, it is possible for Muslims and nomads to pass Agnatic-Cognatic succession, which in turn allows matrilineal marriage. At the highest level, it is possible to pass the Absolute Cognatic succession law, and female rulers do not suffer opinion penalties. Sometimes you have to do some dirty, unsavory things in this game. Like murdering your inferior children to keep the bloodline pure. But in the end, seeing that emperor title before your character's name makes it all worthwhile.
