...the last time I've used steam was when the orange box came out and I haven't touched it since. Following recent events and the general attitude of steam-users, as well as all the microtransaction games like Dota2/CS:GO, EarlyAccess shit and Greenlight shit, I can see I've made one of the best choices of my life.
I'm very glad I didn't stick to Steam/PC culture and build a useless impossible to complete backlog from your alluring steam sales, then boast about it online when in reality it's just a display of my buyer's remorse.

They can't, they aren't even making games anymore. L4D was Turtle Rock Studios' work and the sequel had some improvements on what the other devs had built, CS GO was made by Hidden Path Entertainment, and Dota 2 had the Icefrog modder guy working on it.
They already shifted from game developers to full time managing Steam, side hardware shit, experimental VR shit and so on, they're not developers anymore.
Gabe also aid a game such as Half-Life would require the entire company to work on it, it simply will not happen.
