Have you ever irrationally hyped up a game as a kid and saved up for it only to realize it was complete shit after you bought iy?
>>343832343
I honestly can't remember such an event. I think I was impressed with everything as a kid, played everything I got my hands on
But granted I never really "bought" video games they were all like 2.5$ at a bootleg store.
Pic unrelated I assume. OotP was an outstanding game for the time.

I played theWiiversion though. That shit was unresponsive and mediocre.
Wasn't every HP game different across systems anyway?
>>343834173
A lot of them were different, the PS3 and Wii versions of OotP were the same with the only difference being motion controls. That being saidI loved the Wii version and never had trouble with the motion controls

Was about to post this
>>343832343
>great wizard dueling system
>game is like four hours long
>the only moderately engaging battles don't require winning them (and they are the fucking final bosses to boot)
>the only way you can duel someone after beating the game is randomly attacking students for stupidly easy 3v1 fights
Fuck this game
>Enjoy the Harry Potter games, 2 was the best but 3 was still solid and within the original vision
>Get 4 without paying too much attention to the advertising
>Nothing like the first 3 at all
>Series if fully CoDified by the end
Rip
Zelda was my favorite series growing up, and although I didn't flat out hate the game, I expected so much more. There were things to like, but personally it ended up being my least favorite of the 3D Zelda games and kinda crushed my hype for video games for a while.

This game taught me brand loyalty is for tards
>>343837928
But it was good
>>343838116
Are you thinking of one of the other PS2 Spyro games?
Not even a tourneyfag.
Irrationally hyped is the perfect description, and I only narrowly avoided getting burned. I had $60 dollars for this game saved up, and I pestered my Mom to take me to Walmart to buy it but she couldn't take me that day. So I got home and the first thing I did was watch X-Play to see its review. That's when I first heard it was shit; then I checked Gamespot, and it did shitty there too. So I was little upset and bought some other forgettable game.

Chamber of secrets was great.
>Mfw running around collecting all the Bertie Botts every flavor beans
I think, to this date, this is still the biggest disappointment I've ever played because I really wanted to get into a fucking Star Wars fighting game. I didn't even care they put random characters like HOAR, a Gamorrean guard and whatsherface, I just wanted to beat the shit out of Darth Vader with Boba Fett... and then I played the game.
>>343838978
that was the only one I ever played.
it's a crying shame I can't emulate it on dolphin. sound is all fucked up. I haven't tried it with the new 5.0 dolphin though, may give it another try.
I fucking loved this game so much.

>>343839194
I only had the GBA version, and all I remember was getting stuck early on.
Also giant fire crabs in the goblin bank for some reason.
I was so mad when in Goblet of Fire they did not follow the formula of the previous games (pic related). Instead of a place to explore, it became collecting shit through mazes seen from upside and minigames, godamn it. Prisoner of Azkaban for PC was perfect.
>>343838845
But that game isnt shit though
>>343839578
ps2 version was great.
>>343832343
not really on topic but i ignored the reviews for star ocean 5 and bought it anyway. biggest waste of money ive ever blown on a video game i got maybe 15 minutes out of it
