Hey /v/, should I get this or Bayonetta from the psn store sale?

DMC 3 is worth it alone personally I didn't care too much for Bayonetta
>>
>>343831707
Which DMC games have you played? And does Bayonetta's design actually have appeal to you?
>>
>>343831707
DMC collection, Bayonetta is very good but I think PS3 version isn't as good as Wii U. If you have a Wii U get it on that. Regardless DMC1 and 3 are 2 great games compared to 1 great game.

>Which DMC games have you played?
none, hence why I am considering this collection.

>And does Bayonetta's design actually have appeal to you?
sure. they both look very good and I'm really unsure which one to get.
>>
Bayonetta. You're better off just emulating DMC3.
>>
the collection would last you longer.
>>
>>343832490
not really worried about how long they last, much rather have quality over quantity

how does the dmc combat system compare to bayonettas?
>>
>>343831707
PS3 version of Bayonetta is awful, definitely don't buy that. DMC is worth more just by quantity
>>
>>343831707
>Both @ standard 19.99
>No price drop
Where the fuck is the "psn store sale"?
>>
The PS3 version of Bayo is ass.
Get the DMC collection

bayonetta is broken on ps3. don't bother.
>>
>>343831707
DMC HD Collection. Not even a contest nignog.
>>
>>343833053
Also the DMC collection comes with 2 good games instead of just 1.
>>
>>343831707
>Bayonetta
>PS3
Definitely DMC.
>>

DMC. Bayonetta is aids on ps3. Pretty sure that's already been made clear but I felt like adding to it
>>
Bayonetta on PS3 was bad but it was patched to be better. The 360/Wii U versions are still better but it's not as bad as people say.

That said, Bayonetta's combat is probably the one that's a bit more polished. DMC1 was the start so it's pretty basic, DMC2 was them trying to advance the series but then they tripped on their own feet and tumbled down the stairs. DMC3 is them fixing everything wrong with DMC2 and has some amazing memorable fights, but it's a bit slower than Bayonetta.

Frankly I would recommend DMC over Bayonetta, but I never really could get into Bayonetta when I played and finished it.
>>
Alright, DMC it is then.

Also, how is Ico? I thought SoTC was pretty good, if that means anything.
>>

I feel like bayonetta is a better entry for a beginner to the genre. Look up how to dodge offset and consider watching a bit of kamiya's LP. If you want to go right to DMC DMC4 is a great place to start as Nero is a very well balanced and beginner friendly character.
If you wanna hop right into DMC1 or 3 they're both fantastic, but be prepared to get your ads kicked as they're hard and don't always explain mechanics well.

Then look at it this way. Play the DMC collection first, starting with 1 and see where action games pretty much got their start. Playing in release order for these kinds of games is kind of important. Both DMC1 and Bayo is made by the same dude. 2 is entirely skippable, I promise you won't be missing anything besides maybe the soundtrack.

DMC3 really needs no intro.

>DMC1 was the start so it's pretty basic
Yeah, but that game isn't about doing intricate combos and shit anyway. So many people go back to DMC1 and try to play it like DMC3 & 4. The combat has more weight to it that the later games kind of left behind in favor of pin-cushioning enemies.
>>
>>343833561
>DMC3 is them fixing everything wrong with DMC2

Not really.
>>
The PS3 version of Bayonetta runs like shit, so DMC
>>
>>343833817
It's a game long escort mission.
>>
>>343833817

Honestly it's pretty shit. Yorda's AI will do stuff like climb up and down ladders for no reason (and painfully slowly) and is generally incompetent at getting around the world. This ruined the game for me.
>>
>>343833817
It's an amazing game.

It falls on the short side, as it only lasts like 4 hours even if you goof around. But if you can get it for cheap, it is worth it.
