Regardless of whether that's true or not, I'm curious of how long an MGSV video of his would be. MGSV took me as long to beat as Dark Souls so a 6 hour video isn't out of the question, but every other mission in MGSV is fucking identical. I doubt it. Aside from him doing the stream a bit after the actual conferences, it's one of those things that didn't "originate" any where in particular. BotW getting immense hype and press despite being just one game was noted in a lot of places and sort of just manifested everywhere across the internet. Part of it is because it's not exactly the most complicated of an idea: Sony, Microsoft, and the others all had normal, E3 trailers and game trailers, whereas Nintendo has Zelda by itself for one day focusing entirely on playing it, then other games on the second day, with no conference. I heard you didn't want to do a DMC3 video because of you being burned on DMC2, but is there no way of you reconsidering that stance? DMC3 is probably the best game of the entire genre, and I think there are a lot of interesting elements and design choices in the game to talk about.
Also, on your stream you weren't interested in the new spiderman game, because it's licensed. I also usually prefer original IPs in games, but there are some extremely high quality licensed games you may have overlooked. For example, Spiderman 2 is an amazing game, even though its a movie tie in, because the devs designed an innovative physics based 3D swinging mechanic that not even later spiderman games had. It's a great game regardless if you care the source material or not and it would be a shame if you disregarded it and missed out on those swinging mechanics.

The only way I could beat it was to intentionally go easy on the boss so it wouldn't retaliate too hard, that really infuriated me. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. You definitely should play Drakengard 1 before 3. 2 is skippable since Taro had nothing to do with it and the tone and everything is just wildly different. I just hope you are prepared for them to not necessarily be good games, just interesting ones. I mean you are playing Nier which doesn't have great gameplay, but the story, setting and characters really make up for it in my opinion. The little genre-shifting moments are quite cool too and I can't wait to see Platinum handling it with more finesse.
And in case you didn't know Nier takes place in the same world as Drakengard. It doesn't matter that much as you only get small hints about it in Nier but it's a cool thing to know.
