Is this even a question ? Terraria does everything better honestly I think terraria has the best (even if its a little bland in the very beginning) progression system of all time

They are completely different games that you would play for different reasons. Minecraft is more about exploration, ambiance and focused on building.
Terraria is about building too, but a much lesser extent then Minecraft. It's also about combat and the building is more focused towards that goal. From building bases to get NPCs to move in, to making an arena for various bosses, everything revolves around the idea that you are going to be fighting, a lot.
That said, if you compared the games head to head, Terraria has more content, even if you compared the base game to Modded Minecraft. It's certainly more fun in a lot of ways, because it's more engaging. There is almost no down time in Terraria, something is always attacking you.
And that's ultimately why Minecraft just will never compare to other games. Because really, Notch never meant for it to be a 'game'. He drew inspiration from Dwarf Fortress. Minecraft was always suppose to be a simulation. All the game stuff just came later and was haphazardly slapped on.

Especially with mods. I love just flying around a world with Biomes o' Plenty in the mod list. So much variety. I just wish that the mods didn't cause the FPS to take such a large hit, because I love using shader mods for the water and sky.

I'm still shocked about this because they pretty much just threw everything together. There was almost no planning for progression. In fact, Duke Fishron and Fishing were added JUST to fuck progression. You can use Fishing to completely skip the beginning of the game and once you get to hard mode, it's completely possible to kill Duke with the start of hard mode armor and items you can get from fishing and the items you get from Duke's loot table can completely wipe out everything up to the Pillars.
Minecraft is really a sandbox game, while terraria is an action rpg with a lot of sandbox elements.
People who are creative and like to explore, build, push boundaries, and have simple fun how they want at their own pace will enjoy minecraft.
People who want to be shown where to go so they can kill things and get good boy points for it will enjoy terraria

It has wire and the latest update was the wiring update. It added a fourth color wire, pressure plates that activate when you hit them with a projectile. These also work with spear and dart traps, so you can make crazy automated things. There are now conveyor belts, so you can push items and mobs around, their direction can change when you provide power to it from a wire.
The best thing it added however, was a bunch of sensors and logic gates. You can make some pretty advanced stuff.

Conveyor belts don't work on enemies.
There's also the grand design which makes building much easier, as well as exploring.

I don't play either now, but I found mine craft to be more enjoyable multiplayer wise, which is what I played. Sadly, the community is cancerous as fuck and the game has gone stale. Last time I tried playing (2013ish) terrarium had more content and was much more engaging. If I had to pick one or the other now, I'd go for terrarium, which is sad because mine craft had a lot of potential.

It seems like it is always getting patches but the game still has 0 fucking content to it. They just keep adding shitty vehicles or dumb little things like quests. Those quests are utter cancer and boring as shit.
Starbound needs to take a note from Terraria. I am pretty sure fucking BETA Terraria had more bosses than present day Starbound. Add some bosses, add some events, add a hard mode. Add SOMETHING with some goddamn meat to it for once.
