The character are hit or miss for some, as well, but I appreciate how they aren't generic moe shit.
And the sprite work tends to be incredibly solid, and the character designs themselves are actually incredibly solid, despite them not being drawn well.

Sekibanki has no relationship with any other character, Raiko is one of the more inconsequential extras plot wise and the three other non-instrument tsukumogamis have more stuff going for them than her, that is without talking about Yatsuhashi or Benben whose point being there was just a side effect of the mallet. Kagerou and Waggy are more victims from the protags enraging then having any real importance, moreso than in other games. They really feel like they were kind of just there.
