Not true. In most cases exclusivity is kept. It's just poor form to do a bait and switch to get early supporters (which thought they'd be getting something exclusive)

So what you get it, and let others have to pay more to get what you got.
>>343647805
that's kind of the point of exclusivity
lmfao at mn9 but it's an even bigger fuck you to the backers than the game simply being shit
>>343648336
Got an example? I'm curious and have no idea which devs/games have done this. pre-order bonuses don't count since they don't usually boost a games price, unlike this which is an extra $40 among the $19.99 price
>>343648730
They claimed it was going to be backer exclusive, now it isn't. They fucked up. They probably figured that since all their goodwill is lost forever they might as well do it and nab a few extra shekels

eh, I'm not surprised. They've screwed over the backers at just about every turn. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see them deactivate all the backer codes some time down the road because they decide they need more money and the backers need to pay again.
Whatever. I played a couple levels of the game, didn't even bother to finish any of them. It plays like garbage and it looks like a mobile game. It was $60 down the drain that I'll never see again, and I've accepted that. I don't really care what they do with it from here on out. I feel such pity for those that backed it from the beginning. Fans had to deal with so much from community incompetence, style chances, unity engines, indie game looks with a big budget in an effort to see a new franchise. One they loved with care and nostalgia. And well look at them now. Those that never backed it or had any heart in the effort if they fancy, can play and gain as much if not the same amount as someone who backed it for 60 dollars. The people who had the most to gain have spent the least.

We hung around the buffet and had a blast. And after prom we had a LAN party for the following 48 hours and held our own game tournaments and binged the final anime episodes of the season using a giant projector image.
I dare say our prom was pretty good.

At this point I'm just enjoying the ride of watching it get treated like the trash it is. I got a few dollars back from selling my backer codes online, I got a bit of a life lesson about not supporting crowdfunding campaigns, and now I get to watch a trainwreck. Coulda gone better if I didn't spend the money to begin with, sure, but gotten over that mistake I made a few years ago by now.

Can we all stop pretending Mega Man fans who backed Mighty No. 9 ever actually needed that garbage in the first place?
The Mega Man franchise is one of the most populated franchises of all time. They have over 40 video games, which I believe makes it the second largest video game franchise in the world (barring Mario, but maybe beating Final Fantasy). Within that franchise, there are at least a dozen games that are considered amazing, and at least a dozen more that are good to okay.
You could spend a year playing every Mega Man game (Even if you went full NEET and powered through every single MM game as fast as possible it would still take at least a month), and then there are the fanmade levels and creations that go on endlessly.
Sure, does it suck that Capcom stopped making Mega Man games? Yes.
But for fuck's sake, there are already enough of them.

Kickstarter debacles like this will keep happening so long as there are nostalgiafags to swindle. Why couldn't Megaman fans accept that their beloved game series run it's course in the 90's and just count it as a good memory and leave it at that?
Instead, they forked over all of their money and funded an idea, a concept, without so much as looking into the reality of the management or all of the important nuances that make a great game.

Physical rewards for kickstarter games generally take a while and anything directly related to the game (like physical box, combo art book/strategy guide) don't come out until after the game is out digitally.
Combine that with shitty management from the company, and it takes forever. Broken Age for instance, art book didn't come out until like a month ago? And I think the physical boxes still aren't out.

Kinda, lets you drop up to 3 turrets that hang in space that stick around for a bit and can be set to fire upwards (angle you can't fire at normally). So it's not always useful, but when it is, it makes certain mini-bosses/bosses piss easy since you can set them and just spend time dodging.

TOR's failure is drastically overplayed by /v/. It did well at launch numbers wise, and was all round an alright game. Like most MMOs it just suffered from shitty endgame, which is what caused most of the drop off. Then they added a bunch of improvements, and since it's gone f2p it's become really successful.
/v/ just clings to the whole failure meme because they feel like they personally caused it troubles or something.
Actual failures are stuff like FFXIV 1.0, Evolve, Battleborn and MN.9.

I know m8. I'm not married and never will so I'll never be a cuck.
I saw a MN9 retail box at the store today, for 30 bucks.
Worth it?

>>343656856
It's an alright enough game at the $15 range, ideally you wouldn't pay more than $5-$10 though.
>>343656881
I got my digital codes and sold them for over 60 bux. You got cucked anon.

Ouya had some pretty fun games for what it was, it's a shame it didn't take off as an indie platform.
>Duck Game and Towerfall on the couch
>I didn't back Double Fine
>I didn't back Ouya
>I didn't back this shit
Feels fucking good
>>343653719
The kickstarter was made in the perfect time for one. The 25th anniversary of megaman was terrible. The only thing that came out was an awful mobile game. Legends 3 was cancelled, Megaman Universe was cancelled, MegaMMO was cancelled.
They were desperate.
>mfw i enjoyed it
Sequel soon please
>>343657186
>I didn't back Ouya
No one on /v/ is stupid enough to back that shit. Don't get me wrong, /v/ is fucking retarded, but still experienced enough to know what a cell phone in a box will get you.

>>343653581

>>343657186
>I backed Skullgirls
>It went better than expected
How do we UNJUST the megaman fans, /v/?
>>343657164
The problem was that people just didn't seem to know what it was even after the creator said exactly what it was. Most of the backers seem to think they were funding a PS3 level system when it was just a mobile level system for your TV. Which is nice I guess if you are the kind of person that to play mobile games with a controller and on a TV.

>The whole series is Arin crying while Danny laughs at him
Please make it happen.
