>Action requires one long, single strenuous effort from player character
>Player is required to rapidly mash a button/waggle stick to make him perform it
Even if you don't think QTEs and the like are fundamentally terrible, can we at least agree that this shit needs to stop? It doesn't even make any sense.
>spinning the stick in Sonic Riders at insanely fast speeds is the only way to beat the last race
>only option to spin quick enough is to use your palms
>acquire stigmata

I remember playing the game and betting this shit in one go.
Is that rope pull really that hard or are many people just really shit at repeated button presses.
>never play any game that makes you waggle the stick back and forth in hard mode so I don't break my controller

The final boss on Silent Hill Homecoming had a CLICK TO SURVIVE moment and I couldn't fucking clear it no matter how fast I clicked..
Eventually I stopped and clicked twice a second or so and cleared it. Going too fast meant the game couldn't keep up and read no inputs
>mashing has a weird hard limit so mashing it at a godlike speed is no faster than doing it a moderate pace
>There's a QTE that will make you game over and have to fight a terrible boss from scratch if you miss it
>There isn't even a fucking prompt
