Everything. Absolutely everything.
>>343598913
cliff racers
Too many filthy Greyskins
lack of accessible quick travel
It's an adventure.
I get it.
>>343598913
You mean what went right?
Todd Howard stayed in charge after Morrowind.
>>343599246
I'm sure there are plenty of things wrong with it. Do we have to pretend it's perfect?
>>343598913
It wasn't the masterpiece called Skyrim.
>>343599246
>melee combat is atrocious and boring as hell
>magic breaks the game, horribly unbalanced
>90% of every npc says the same generic, canned dialogue, breaking immersion
>cliff racers
>>343599151
it's an older game
that's pretty much it
>>343599151
scrolls of divine/almsivi intervention, spells that have the same effect, amulet of almsivi intervention, mages guild teleportation, silt striders, boats, mark and recall
shitty combat

what went wrong
Oblivion was made, which generated a lot of fags whose first game was Oblivion and nowt those people can't shake off the nostalgia goggles.

Almost every single person wants to play as a single button clicking braindead barbarian, but don't understand the magnificence of magic in ES games(Except Skyrim).
But well there you go. Bethseda listened to you fucks and did just that in Skyrim, now you can play as a dumbshit axe-swinging Nord to your heart's content.
They will probably remove magic altogether in ES 6

Actually I very much hope that TES removes any kinds of levels and skills alltogether.
I mean, whats the point of skills if you are just gonna make them meaningless by controlling the character yourself. Do people want to have themselves a rougelite or do they want to control their character directly.

Fortifying your alchemy and restoration to make a really over powered jump potion and spell is better than fast travel. You don't have to deal with loading screens or time passing that way

Oblivion

I know. People complain about Morrowind combat but don't realize it's supposed to be a role-playing game, you aren't supposed to be playing with your skill. That's a big problem in Fallout 3/New Vegas, because the player can aim at the enemy using his mouse which means he is using his skill rather than his character's skill.
