There's a difference between a decade old game getting ported to another platform versus a game coming out on two platforms at once, with one being inferior to the other.
Picking this up when it comes out, this swries has forever been a distant mystery to me. I had a choice once between Devil Survivor 2 and 999, ended up choosing the one with a weaker story, but superior gameplay(from my understanding).

Honestly the riddles are not bad and story is kind of fun at first but thenTimetravel and alternate dimension bullshitruined it for me.
Might have mixed something up with Ever17 but i stlll remember there being some bs like that.

999 will probably take you about 12 hours or so. Subsequent playthroughs will go a lot faster because you can fast forward through text and you'll know some of the puzzles.
