Nah, I agree with him. There's really no reason to use Source anymore and pretty much anything would be a better choice and offer more promise. They're already making Deathwing on UE4 so they could use their experience with that for a new EYE game.
I can't think of too many engines these days that are as easily available for licensing as UE4. There's Unity but while I don't think a lot of the issues games that use that have as entirely the engine I think UE4 is still a better choice. There's a few others like that Amazon one, Cryengine, Unigine, and maybe even Source 2 depending on when they get the game started.

I really liked the hacking. It has a good amount of interactivity without turning into a repetitive QTE event anytime you do it. Though the hacking AI does need to be improved because you could settle into just pressing the same buttons over and over again.

Depends on how you play it really. You could just kill the respawning enemies for forever if you want. Took me probably 12 hours or so to beat it though. But to get the "true" ending you have to play the game at least 3 times and you'll probably play more than that if you don't know exactly what to do.
The game just loops over onto itself though so basically you can get ng++++++++++++ etc. I'm not sure if there's a level cap.

You have to equip it from one of the armories and then you can select it the same as any other weapon. When you have it out you'll see the "ammo" counter start to regenerate which I think is how much health it'll restore. Using it too much in a short period of time has some bad effects I think though. Might want to read about it on the wiki.

Im slowly printing out parts for a prototype HS010. Four rotating barrels, variable top RPM, quad stack magazine for as many .22 rounds as possible, gas powered with a cocking spring to get the rotation going, and it looks like a brick. Ludicrously complex system for chambering the rounds and ejecting them. Spins up by venting gas out the side of the barrel, which is perforated all along the right side.
