Blue can be pretty hard on your eyes if you're not getting proper lighting. All the yellow does is balance out against the blue. The glasses are better if you're in a place lit with flourescent lights and has high glare, but in a place like your room where you probably live in a NEET cave, Flux is better.
Putting the filters on reduce eyestrain and headaches. It doesn't make you a better player.

Because trying to set them back to reasonable can be a huge asspain on older monitors. It's easier to have glasses or a program you can take on and off at will.
I use the glasses myself since I work in a high-glare environment and it does better for me than flux does. Not using them gives me a headache in about 4 hours.
