Around the middle of chapter 3 currently. Am i at the point where i should be upgrading weapons? Because so far I've just been crafting them outright, been keeping current with each difficulty without much farming or grinding at all. How exactly to AI partners work and level up? I keep seeing shit about kanon being good because she can get you rare items. Is that just passive? Do i have to unlock it? Do NPCs learn more skills the more you use them or is it just about amassing AP to buy their current ones? So far I've been using longblade and spear. I like scythe but its extend form seems to do SO little damage. I know about the sweetspot but it just seems to do shit damage unless you're doing the pull in which case it fucking rapes. Still don't understand burst all that well, you can only get to higher levels by having another player buff you? Thats kinda lame. The game is fun but it seems to be lacking in monster variety. I know I'm only in difficulty 3 but ALL I've been fighting are fucking chiyous and gobugobu. Where the fuck are the cool ones. Even vajra is kinda shitty. Really stiff monster animations and attacks in general. Seeing vajra do his leaps and jumps is almost painful to watch and think an entire dev team thought this was ok

Someone want to explain combo master and melee specialist to me? I'm confused because I think they would increase damage for spear combos and the damage done by special moves, but I'm not sure.
So how are the spears? Are they worth trying out?

Mixing the charge attack with the melee bonus you can get from predator styles is pretty cool, but since they deal piercing damage they're not good in ALL situations.
If you're thinking of going spear, have a backup hammer for certain bosses.
