I honestly think it's still pretty good. No idea why it has been in beta for so fucking long it will die before it gets "released".

I dunno, it was a fun distraction, and the most I spent on it was like $1 for humble bundle.
Fun? Yes.
can it be better? I dunno, it actually seems kinda balanced to the point of boredome.
If I can do anything to it make it better, I wouldn't know what to do.
As soon as killer instinct came out for PC, I never went back to DB.

Phantom update
They lied about what they were making and most people bailed once they realized. People thought it was a team shooter, but they turned it into a generic CoD tier run and gun one instead.

What you can get everything for free.
Splash Damage needs to take contract work in order to stay afloat. That means they have a skeleton staff actually working on Dirty Bomb, content slows to a crawl outside of big event weeks and even those are just flashy ways to release a new merc or have some new loadouts or whatever.
What the few people working on the game actually choose to create seems to have no actual focus or direction, like someone actually worked hard and for a period of time on a fucking assault course with a timer on it. Not new maps, not working on balancing the current mercs, not trying to bring together the remaining community thats split between too many different modes and Ranked/Unranked.
Dirty Bomb could have been fucking amazing but its just too little way way too slowly. The gunplay and movement mechanics are fucking amazing but the menus still bug out and are broken. I just have no idea what the fuck is going on with the development.

I think it was like some gold (enough for one character) and some elite cases for the contamination event, and I simply didn't feel like grinding for another character. That's it.

They're finally coming out with the casual matchmaking junk in a week or two, can't wait.
I never played ET unfortunately, did play RTCW's MP in the demo a bunch as a kid. Regardless I love the game. Get to go fast, shooting feels good, none of the abilities feel like sympathy kill shit like Overwatch.
I just wish the game had gotten a better foot off the start and was more popular. Maybe after the matchmaking update everything will begin to pick up.
Nexon should be fucking pimping it more though and cater to the competitive aspect, why they haven't beats me.

There's literally nothing that makes it p2w. All the weapons are pretty damn balanced, none of the abilities give free kills and are easy to avoid, etc.
