Go to village and hire as many basic peasant as you can. I'm talking about maxing your party with them. Then throw yourself into looters and small bandit parties.
Doing quests for lords is good too but don't accept shit quest like deliver letter or train troop. Build enterprise in cities for stable income.
Get renown with battle, become vassal to a king, start fucking shit up.
