REMINDER: If you're going to lose in Overwatch, make sure you leave the game before it ends.
Since the game calculates the MMR gain/loss at the end of the match, rather than the start, if you leave it calculates it with only 5 people added. And obviously the more people leave, the less MMR.
eg. If you have 6x 60 vs 6x60, that's 360 MMR on both sides. But if 3 of your team leave, then it's 180 vs 360. So the game will be calculated as if you were massive massive underdogs and only give your opponents a tiny increase in MMR.
Why should they be rewarded? Fuck them. So long as you don't leave too often (stop losing, scrub) you won't trigger the penalties.
TL;DR: Leaving screws over your opponents. If you're going to lose anyway, there's no reason not to.
Why would I waste my time playing a ranked game mode to begin with? Shit's the antithesis of fun and if I'm not having fun then why the fuck am I wasting my time playing a game like Overwatch?

Overwatch is like Hearthstone, there's literally no difference in matchmaking between QP and Competitive, both us a hidden MMR system.
The difference is that the people in ranked are actually trying to win. So while there's some saltiness, there's also not 4 Hanzo's telling you "If you want a tank, you do it." while you're standing around with your thumb up your ass as Mercy.
