Kongol was the hypest shit for me. I still think he would put the Chuck Norris jokes to shame, for the fact of the first battle you meet him, it's Dart and Lavitz. His coolest attack was grabbing them by the heads, smashing them together, tossing them up and then backhanding them both into the wall.How do you miss attacks like that, anyways? Felt weird having that happen and then it MISSED.

Don't remember that much about it, but it was Sony's attempt at FF7.
Ran at a higher framerate than most other JRPG's, had good music and everything else was great.

It was one of the first RPGs I ever played and I enjoyed it at the time, but looking back it's pretty mediocre.
First off, the shitty localization meant a shitty translation and terrible voice acting. It's not as big a deal when they're just shouting attack names, but when you're getting one of the most plot-important moments in the game and the response is NO ITCAN NOTBE it's pretty garbage. The game was also plagued with retarded balance choices. Meru/Haschel was easy mode, everyone else was needlessly gimping yourself. Dragoons were pretty much completely useless for half of the game beyond one or two spells at situational moments during boss fights. The other main gimmick, Additions, got boring as hell by the time I hit the last disc, to the point where I intentionally grinded out the ass in the desert area to get enough gold for Ultimate Wargods. The way it was released I'd expect it to have a dev cycle of maybe a year and a half, certainly not 4 years.
I'd probably love a remake if it was properly done but the game as it is now is a 7/10 at best.

I can't hate on this game, its one of few RPG's that even use an active attack system, instead of pick a move, do a move. or gambit from ff12, but gambit is decent for making party AI non shite so you don't have to tell them the obvious all the time.
you don't see many valleys of busted gravity in games either, great setting, just great overall.

It wasn't bad i actually enjoyed Legend of Dragoon but it couldn't compete with Final Fantasy. Sony actually wanted to make this a trilogy and release Legend of Dragoon 2 on PS2 but since LoD sold so bad that idea was scrapped.

Because disc 3 shits all over Dragoons with every boss battle, and by the time you're in disc 4 you'll do more damage with everyone's final additions. Dragoons at that point are only for situational spells like Rainbow Breath, Rose Storm or Miranda in general.

Literally there is no point in ever using Dragoons. You are always 100% off better just using additions and gaining levels and SP with them. The last 3 times I replayed this game I only ever went Dragoon once with each character to see the trasformation then never touched it again. Well except DD for fun killing triceratops.
