The wii games do not have any standard gamepad support, you MUST use the pointer, and I don't think anyone has come up with a plugin to make mouse work the same way as the pointer, since there is always a reticule that moves around the screen. But wii remotes work.

I never played any of those games, so I could be wrong, but I know F-Zero GX and Galaxy 2 worked for atleast 2 years, so I find it unlikely Sunshine didn't work.
You know, I've asked around trying to figure out why people hate sunshine so much and I think I've finally got it.
In Sunshine, exploration is kind of linear. There are only a couple options to get shine sprites in the mid-section of the game, forcing you to beat a mission you don't like to progress. This causes people to get frustrated and quit the game.
You can also bring up the red coin collectathon thing being irritating, but most non-autists don't even bother with that kind of stuff anyways so it doesn't really matter.
In other words, you're all a bunch of garbage casuals that ragequit children's videogames, or you're probably an autist completionist.

Make sure you set up a traversal server, not local host or whatever default is. It should say it pretty clearly near the upper right.
Sunshine's music is so low quality it puts me to sleep. Plus its the game where the lazy abomination Bowser Jr. is first introduced.
