I just finished my calibration matches, went 7-3 and got ranked 53. It's better than I expected, I thought I'd rank somewhere below average since I play almost exclusively tanks and supports. I've found competitive to be a better quality of game than quick play, with less fucking around and more objective play. Plus if I get some competitive bux at the same time (and can eventually buy Mercy's gold pimpcane) then it's win-win.

In a hypothetical situation, /v/ you have queued and entered a competitive match. Your team is attacking on a payload/assault map. A player that has the same MMR as you instantly locks Hanzo. You think nothing of it and proceeded to play.
After your team loses on the attacking side, you noticed that your Hanzo has never used his ultimate once nor has he used his wall hack arrow. However, you frequently hear this Hanzo player's death and this same player being on the "killed by x" on the kill indicator in the top right.
Throughout the match, he has been switching back and forth between Hanzo and Widowmaker, always failing to build ultimate to 100% to use them.
You have also pleaded with this player, along with the rest of your team, for this person to switch off of Hanzo/Widowmaker. The player is silent and continues to be useless.
The game switches both teams to the opposite role. You are now defending and this player that's clearly a liability has now locked Hanzo.
This player has proved to be useless is going to continue playing Hanzo/Widowmaker.

I've been amazed for how much better I perform in competitive simply because I get queued up with teammates that are willing to be tryhards and work with each other.
I crave for this kind of sportsmanship (well, most of the time) in competitive matches. Not some ugly golden reskin.
