Are you interested in Nip shit? There's this old ass PC-98 adventure game called YU-NO, and being a game about parallel worlds, it's got a mechanic that allows you to make what is essentially a save state and reload it at any time in the story; All your items transfer over too, which means you can get an item from one route, then reload the save state you made in another route, and use it there.
