there are a lot of other mods too but the only thing I'd recommend looking into is the Cheat Engine table, it has a lot of quality of life things separate from cheating.

In all seriousness though, an amazing game with a lack of good mod support (They're trying though!). The gameplay is like a mix between Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter, and Shadow of the Colossus.
Also has the best dragon in a video game, and some of the coolest attack magic. All you can marry literally almost anyone in the game.

I don't respect anyone that played DD, did that sidequest and avoided the bandits. Game gives you so many options, if you're not spiderman yourself you just need to create opportunities for your strider pawn to take advantage of and destroy them while they're down

It makes enemies stun less and makes them do more damage by a constant amount, say a bandit does 100 damage on normal, on hard it will be 100+400 or whatever. Once you have enough HP it doesn't make a difference anymore and it's the same as fighting enemies on normal mode because the extra damage always stays the same

Assassin is bretty good with a sword/bow if you want to branch out to something more agile. It doesn't really matter unless you have minmax autism but all the vocations have different stat growths.
The PC version has the option of shutting pawns all the way up. Sometimes their banter is actually helpful, so since you're playing it for the first time, I recommend letting them talk for a while.
Stats. Do whatever the fuck you want. A lot of people have this... ahem... dogma... about playing this class for x levels, switching to that class for x levels, etc. The only real benefit of that is that you get the passive skills of every class, which you can do later. At a certain point in the game, there's a spot where enemies - really weak enemies - spawn endlessly until you leave the zone. That's where you farm "discipline points," which you'll learn about on your own.
However, if you plan on switching between magic and physical classes a lot, then all you need to do is make sure you have at least 500 strength and 500 magic by the time you hit max level 200. You can do that HOWEVER the fuck you want. Again, ignore the convoluted bullshit. All you need to know is that Sorcerers get the highest magic gains per level and Assassins get the highest strength gains per level. If I remember correctly, that is.
Pawns are fucking stupid. They learn enemy weaknesses, they can guide you through quests, but they're retarded in combat. So don't worry if you feel like they're dying too much - it's not on you.
Flying enemies are assholes.
Kill Feste, for no other reason than it feels good.
If you want to progress in armor, but don't like the look of the best available piece, don't buy it. Keep rockin' your look. It feels good to see the character you created in the HQ cutscenes.
Ignore the blue circle on your minimap until New Game+. That's intended for higher levels, like 70 and up. Even then, be cautious, because that place is fucking brutal.

If you've got to 33 you're familiar with augments, they unlock specific to class and are usually great for a specific build so it's worth levelling classes that give relevant ones. Dark Arisen complicates things with new universal augments you can loot but there's no reason to ignore class specific ones, they stack.

You're fine for anything but Warrior, even the initial classes will get you through with varying ease (mage is the weakest).
Warrior is a class hated by the game though with only half the abilities on hand in an actual battle compared to the rest and puts you in the role of a stun machine hoping to god that your pawns take advantage of you opening a breach in the enemy's defence.. It makes up for this with flashy abilities but even those are slow and less effective than other class high damage equivalents. This in a game that assumes you can switch between ranged and melee for the most part, and your profession can either hit things from a metre away or fuck off.
Did I mention that Warrior has no block and the shittest dodge in the game? No? Play it anyway, DD's Warrior is a fucking experience and will make you feel like a badass in spite of the obstacles faced
