However, your theory has the big gapping hole that the Tsukumo sisters also changed their power source (Raiko's profile states that she told other tsukumogami how to do it and her Extra stage dialogue with ReimuA pretty much states that she did it so that others wouldn't have to go back to normal after the Miracle Mallet powered down) and they look the same, even some time after the game happened (ISC and their cameo in WaHH). So that can't be the reason for her appearance.
