What's the /v/erdict?
Good entry level but too shallow to keep you interested for long.

It's good for 2 hours.
Uninstall after that.
IGN was right
>civilization 5 faggotry is now "grand strategy"
fucking normies

Fun but shallow, wait for DLC.
Wait for a few more patches before playing. It's good enough where you'll sink in a bunch of hours upfront, but you'll burn yourself out so fast you won't want to play any more. I played 50 hours in the first week, mostly multiplayer. Since then I've put in 2 hours trying things out after the last two patches. The patches were good, but they just fix things. The game really needs content.

This game has permanently turned me off grand strategy.
pop/planet management is terrible
technology is waaaay too random and lots of unrelated things are merged into three main groups
sectors are just bullshit
blue man mana is used for everything
massed corvettes can conquer the glaaxy for you
the game is painfully slow, you can sink 20+hours or more just to reach midgame in some galaxies, terribly boring if you want to play another race
traits are retardedly unbalanced, some are literally worthless
it has some nice ideas but its ridiculously unpolished and clunky, I'm just waiting for the mass effect, warhammer, star trek and star wars total overhaul mods

Really? I'm the opposite, I had fun but felt there was something lacking and that I could handle more and moved on to others.

eventually you will reach HoI 2/3 tiers of micromanagement and discover database-based war simulators as your next level
meet you there, brave anon
