The Rebirth games reused Victory's battle system and gameplay mechanics. The jump from HDN1 to mk2, mk2 to Victory and Victory to V-II felt more pronounced since each game either revamped or improved on the gameplay. The Rebirth games all shared the samey kind of gameplay.
Then there's the fact that the Rebirth games were also released very close to each other on Steam, allowing people to buy them in bulk and play that one after another.
At least play more of V-2. It's does more than the Rebirth games did.
