the sans fight is easily one of the most memorable bosses in recent times.

I'm not going to lie, I actually enjoyed Problem Sleuth and about the first half of Homestuck. But then eventually Homestuck truly became one of the worst pieces of fiction ever because it became popular right at the time sjw shit peaked and the writer decided to infest his story with that tripe.

Depends on how well you're prepped for each fight. If you're saving every healing item for Sans and face off against Undyne without any heals then it can be pretty brutal - but if you grab the Abandoned Quiche before her fight, she's honestly not too difficult. Especially true once you've worked out the pattern of her rotating spear circles attack.
Meanwhile Sans is a complete nightmare unless you have a million heals (and Sea Tea).

Thankfully, that's where the good ol' "classic RPG" becomes a good game. A balance between a narrative and player choice, introducing both positive and negative consequences for actions, influencing the story for good or for bad but nonetheless advancing the plot. Like for example in Fallout 1 I believe there are some people andif you tell them the location of the Vault, they'll help you, but the Super Mutants also find it faster. This is a good example of what choice should be, not just simply "gee should I grind up these enemies?"
