How's your project coming along, /v/?
>>343262234
Not so hot. I'm not a programmer and figuring out dependencies for compiling shit on windows is driving me mad.
>>343262440
fighting shaders in unity, well directx I guess. Fuck you if I want to use 12 textures and change all their uvs and you say I can't in a single pass

Are the edges of the card supposed to look all duffed up?
They look really badly treated.
>>343263341
Yeah, they're old pages ripped out of a book.
>>343263417
That's pretty neato, I assume you're going for a tcg type game.
Do you have any unique shit that'll set it apart from the 50 other games like that?
Art style is nice.

The cards are all steam inventory items. The mana system is pretty unique in that each tome you put your pages in changes the entire playstyle of the game.
Haven't worked on it in 2 weeks. Wanna kill myself.
I need ideas for waifus in a high school setting.

How many people have bought this so far?
in otherwords. How much money have you made from steam?

Rich german girl with huge cans thats shy but a secret sex maniac
>>343263898
Not that guy but those numbers are under NDA
>>343263898
>>343264210
They aren't under NDA. I've sold about 100, but most are from the summer sale (50% off).
I gave away about a 1000 on Steam, so there's a bit of a playerbase. So far I've made almost $20 from the marketplace alone which is nice.
The store page itself says "if you're not into early access, wait until its release because it'll be f2p" - so that's why the sales numbers are crazy low (especially for Steam).
Either way, I also work full time at a gamedev studio working on other projects so money isn't really an issue for me for Forgotten Lore
>>343264439
I remember when you first posted about your idea and I thought it was neat as fuck. Might run into some copyright issues but I'm glad to see you making progress anon. Keep up the fight
>>343264439
If money isn't an issue why not just make it f2p from the start?
You'd have a much bigger audience to get feedback from, assuming you can make early access games free?
>>343264648
Because servers are expensive. Money isn't an issue right now because there are so few people playing (which is the intent of the early access).
>>343264608
Thanks anon

Feels good desu; except it's in Unreal.
I hate developing in Unreal...

You aren't allowed to share steam sales data.
>>343265136
Please, show me where it says that in the NDA.
What other ability scrolls should I have for my Collectathon?

Got me curious so I went and dug it up.
>Sales Data will be Valve Confidential Information, except that Sales Data specific to a Company Application will be Confidential Information of both Parties.
If I'm understanding this properly, it means that it is only under NDA if I don't own it. So, product sales data of a company, the company can disclose at any time to the public if they wish.
>>343266001
Based on the (vi) part I'd say that developers can share their total numbers over all sales platforms that they use but they can't share steam specific numbers.
Also have you ever seen a developer share steam sales data? If it were allowed then I'd say there'd be plenty of devs sharing it.
>>343266303
"Company Application" is earlier defined as a game put up on Steam, so no that's not quite right.
The real reason for not seeing real numbers is probably the same reason you don't see employees sharing salary numbers at work. Yeah it's not illegal, but do you really want to have that dick waving contest in front of the boss?
Aside from giveaways and bundles, Steamspy is SUPER accurate by the way. Any dev who says otherwise is a fucking liar.
