because it's more fun playing gzdoom wads like holyhell, okuplok, dark tartarus, etc. with literally thousands of enemies on screen at once. okuplok has over 30k enemies, more than holyhell. there's also wads like chillax, scythe 1 and 2, deus vult 1 and 2, etc.
D44M can't even begin to compare. It's more embarrassing than Doom 3, really.

You do realize that modern enemies are far more complex and memory intensive than a 2d sprite that occasionally attacks right?
Too busy playing games with actual good level design, with fights that permeate and bleed throughout the level and don't just stay contained in their respective arenas

Nothing in D44M on nightmare is as hard as even map 1 of dark tartarus (which is fucking easy for any veteran Doomer)
especially since the chainsaw is now an instant kill on anything, and D44M pits you against pathetically low amounts of enemies, so instantly killing 1 out of 12 is much easier and effective than killing 1 out of 5,000

I like playing it, and the game gets alot better when double jump is introduced, but I can't play this for long periods so I still haven't beaten it. The final fight with double barons of hell (when you first enter hell) were pretty neat though.
I've played the multiplayer alot more though.

I have completed it and I thought it was insanely overrated. It's not terrible but it's not good. It doesn't even feel like a DOOM game. DOOM was a corridor shooter. This new DOOM is arena bullshit with never ending spawning enemies. I thought that was really lame. I can name plenty of better games that came out this year.

The fact that snapmap is such a bitchslap to the Doom modding community and modding in general just makes me never want to play and support this game.

The game is basically just shooting monsters in a arena half the time instead of traversing interesting geomtery and using map design to your advantage.
I think anybody who seriously likes this over the originals is 16 years old or never played the originals.
When is that Vulkan support coming out? I want to try it then once that comes out and I can play it at 60fps max settings on my GTX950.
