Tachanka might be a tough character for someone new, in order to be effective you should set up behind destructible walls and basically try to be as surprising to the enemy as you can. Once they know the location of your gun it's super easy to pop you in the head and kill you instantly.

Put them somewhere they're likely to try use to flank you, then defend from an easily flanked spot, 9/10 times retards will rush into a room to try to get a fast kill since kapkan runs so goddamn slow and all they are thinking about is how to out-position you, and they go straight into a trapped doorway. Also if you only put 1 trap down to begin with, then re-trap the same door during a break in fighting people don't expect there to be a trap on the same doorway/window, as long as you keep defending and picking the same angles, leaving that flanking route open people will generally attempt it.

It's about using tactic to put yourself in a situation where you can shoot people. If you've got your crosshair on someone else and they don't have it on you, you've already won. The shooting should be regarded purely as a sort of animation added to it.

Rook is arguably the best defender in the game. There is never a reason to not have a Rook in the team.
on the one hand its a modern multiplat shooter released on consoles so it'll have unplayable frame delay and networking designed for P2P, and its ubisoft so it'll be abandoned in less than a year and overrun with hackers, on the other hand its only £18 and i love FPS.
