It's a solid 8.5 out of 10. Very niche, but well executed and, while it's there, it doesn't rely entirely on sex appeal like most JRPGs do these days.
In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's the best JRPG we've had in a very very long time. Which is, I guess more a statement on the quality of JRPGs over the past couple generations than it is about the quality of this game by itself, but it's still a good game.

I was looking forward to this game so much, even when it was revealed as lolidols. Not even the censorship was bugging me.
So I preordered the special edition. The next day I saw the fact that not only had outfits been censored(doesn't really bother me), but replaced entirely (really, really bothers me). But I had already preordered it, so I stuck it out.
Finally, I saw that there was a patch. The game I ordered still hasn't arrived, so I broke down and at last hacked my Wii U. Still getting the physical copy, but now have patched digital copy that I just started playing today.
It's really fun so far. I feel like the characters' eyes move around too muc, but that is a minor concern.

The combat is excellent, likable characters, good art and design, music is good sometimes and the gameplay is addicting.

As someone who went in with zero expectations I enjoyed it more than i thought I would. As a diehard MT nut, #fe isn't the best combat but it plays well enough. Towards the end it gets pretty repetitive, for the first 20 hours it's fine. Story's pretty benign, and basically everything you'd expect from the cover for better or worse. I had a right kek over some it though, like the mirage world being called IDOLASPHERE and Tiki being a Miku ripoff. There's also actual nods to MT all over the place, which is really odd because from my first impressions they were actively trying to hide them then. The monsters are even MT guys, just so horribly designed you don't notice it at first until you notice their names and them having overlapping weaknesses with their original counterparts. I really enjoy the soundtrack too, at least the remix non-vocal stuff. Even that ultra cheesy fire emblemu one towards has it's charm. The biggest flaw that stands out to me is a non-issue for me (no battle text) so I guess if I had to really pick anything to complain about I'd say the game drags on a bit, and the censorship changes.

It uses scaling xp, so the cast will swap places in relative levels all the time except for Itsuki, who will usually be 2-3 ahead. I had Touma and Tsubasa in back for half a dozen levels because they got their session skills first, but they still moved ahead when they went back into the main party. Or at least Touma did, because Tsubasa is bench juice.
