The right way to do a ranking system based on individual performance in objective games is to rank primarily on things like objective time and objective kills, and then kda. In my experience it's a better promoter of team play than w/l.

I want to be a little more experienced with the game and get better at a bigger variety of heroes. Right now I've been playing a lot of Mercy, Reinhardt, and Junkrat. I'd like to improve with Genji, Torb, and Winston. If I can do that I think I'll be well rounded enough to start competitive.
Also, the first week of competitive will be hell with so many people inappropriately ranked and what appears to be an obscene amount of leavers.

Pretty good, not for her turrets, but for her teleport and ability to flank and massacre the backline in short order, almost faster than Winston I'd say. Shes the best if things get chaotic and nobody knows who to shoot at, even better if theres a Mei since you can actually charge your gun off shooting at the ice wall

Exactly - and in a game that has a lot to do with teamwork, it's a little harder to carry. I think I have an above 60% winrate with Mercy and above 50% for everyone else I consistently play.

Had no idea about that ice wall thing, that's nasty. I know it's bad practice to ignore certain heroes but I don't play as her, but regardless of that I know first hand that she can be a menace. I'd definitely say it's arguable that she could be more effective than Winston. Winston causes more chaos, but is really noticeable. Symmetra on the other hand can go unnoticed until your dead if she flanks well and you are preoccupied with the other team.

Against Winston even shes absolutely lethal once the two ticks of armor are gone. The only thing she really can't knock out in a hurry is D.Va and Tracer. Shes also Genji's number one bane.
