The initial investment is daunting, but it's cheaper in the long run, graphics/framerate are better, free online, emulators for pretty much every older console except a select few, free games if you decide to pirate, more control options (KB+M, any controller, arcade stick, racing wheel, flight stick, etc), LAN, entire genres that are exclusive like RTS, etc. The benefits are worth the initial investment. Yes, there are many different brands for the same product essentially. Just make sure that the hard drive you buy is the same size as the stock one within the ps4. It's as simple as sliding the old one out and sliding the new one in. The reason why I recommend doing it before you turn on the console for the first time, is so that you won't have to redownload the firmware again.

I have an Xbox one with like 20 games, about half were free with Gold. I'm happy so far, though all my friends moved to pc so I am considering building a pc. It's nice because I can still buy games on my bone and when i build my pc all my games will transfer.

FUCKING ONCE. even if you hold it. If you like Xbox One's exclusives better get it, otherwise the PS4 has better overall performance. Personally I like the Bone's games a bit better, I wasn't that enamored with Uncharted 4's GREATNESS. The Bone can easily use an external hard drive for extra storage, PS4 is a lot more needlessly stupid. Controller is hands down Bone, the PS4's needs to be charged a lot due to that giant LED.
