In the same boat as you. Saw it for 20 bucks a few days ago and really really wanted to get one but was told even my a employee there that its pretty much pay to win.
It's a WoW clone with some Guild Wars mechanics done right to be honest.

It's not pay to win at all. You pay for the DLCs or subscribe to get them for free but the base game and quests are easily worth 200 hours.
