The popular idea of skill ceiling is retarded. Most popular video games have much greater depth than people give them credit for.
If a game has a top 1%, 0.1%, elite few dominating the highest level of the scene, and so then it has a lot of depth and a sky high skill ceiling. If the game were shallow then a top tier of players could not exist in the first place. More importantly, will YOU sitting there come anywhere close to hitting it? Have you taken any fighting game majors, have you or your friends won any international ASSFAGGOTS tournaments, or whatever? If not, then you probably don't need to care about a hypothetical "skill ceiling" in the first place.
Also, a game's depth has nothing to do with how good it is. ASSFAGGOTS is an example of a shitty genre that nonetheless has a lot of depth.
