Question /v/
I have owned an Xbox360 for 7 years now. And in that period of 7 years, I only own it for the one game I bought the system for, Tales of Vesperia.
Vesperia is one of my favorite games of all time, and its the only reason I own this stupid brick, but I'm starting to wonder if its worth owning just for the one game. (I'd GLADLY buy it for PS3 and chuck this thing out of a two story window if it were english.)
So, I thought about co-existing with the 360 and using it for some OG Xbox games i missed out on like Blinx and JSRF, but it turns out my 360 is so fucking old that the update for it to be backwards compatible is no longer a thing.
So.. I'm tempted to just toss the thing and get a new Xbox 360 elite, but I don't even know if that has B/C, or if its worth the hassle.
I'd upgrade to Xbox one-S to solve the size issue, but to my knowledge Vesperia is, and never will be compatible thanks to bamco.
I'm not sure what to do.

You could get either a 360 or OG. I'd say 360 simply so that you could get some other games (360 JRPGs, for example) that came out on the 360.

The xbox elite can play games like jet set?!
I bought a used elite for $100 since my othertwobricked back when GTAV came out.
And the 360 is objectively better to play multiplats on
Mod the console with a chip.
>>343132359
>Vesperiafags
Not even once.
>>343133389
>The xbox elite can play games like jet set?!
Yes, JSRF is bc with any 360.
>>343133832
Not mine apparently. ;~;
Tales thread? whats your favorite? mines Abyss
Luke was a great protag

You have to connect your 360 online and download an emulator. I think.
>>343132359
>my 360 is so fucking old that the update for it to be backwards compatible is no longer a thing.
How is that possible? I had one the year it came out and it had b/c for JSRF and any other game that was compatible.

I've never had Live, for some reason when I bought a card for it it never registered either. Gave me an error code.
The 360 Elite has the exact same backwards compatibility as any other 360 model.

but it has it pre-built right? I can't download the update via internet on my original.
Also if I do plan to sell it, is there any way for me to backup the 360 hard drive and save it? I have 19 playthroughs of Vesperia i'd rather not lose.

You don't need to buy a live gold account. You can sign up for a free silver account, or whatever it's called, and just put in your xbox hueg game, then it will download whatever update you need if it's compatible. In fact, you might not even need any account at all. I don't know, just connect your console to the internet and try it.
>>343134730
Thats the problem. Its not just live, I don't have the wireless adapter thingy for online connectivity, and its a collectors item now at $60+
>>343134682
>but it has it pre-built right?
No, you download some update. If you put in a compatible OG xbox game it should download automatically when you try to play it.

Get an ethernet cable and connect your 360 to your router. Download the update then move everything back to where it was if it's that much of a hassle.
>>343135042
Imagine you do everything to get JSRF bc then your 360 get the RROD.
>>343135212
Thats a problem in of itself, I have no TV where the router is.
>>343135923
Bring the tv near the router.
>>343135923
Only other choice is to get a wireless bridge of some sort, or use internet sharing in a laptop or pc if it's close by. This is basic networking bro.
My issue is that I have a 3rd party hdd in my slim and that means I cant play any og xbox games...
>>343135923
Then move shit around nigger. Goddamn.
>>343136296
Yeah, it needs a special partition on the drive that most third party sellers completely ignore. You can do it yourself, it just takes some work.
>>343136306
>>343136189
>>343136115
But that involves unplugging everything and theres no free outlets I can use in the den.
>>343132359
Don't get the Sega GT version of JSRF. It stops working at a certain level.
>>343136785
Bring the router to your 360 then.
>>343136785
Try a really long Ethernet cable. That shit is cheap as fuck
>>343136821
>Don't get the Sega GT version of JSRF.
But that's the only one I have.
On a related note, Sega GT was pretty fun. Played that a lot on my xbox hueg.
>>343137102
>>343137102
Or you can get an E model 360.
>>343137453
>>343137838
I'm not OP, just commenting that the Sega GT/JSRF game was fucking great.
>>343136785
>I'm incapable of even thinking for myself
Good god man.
>>343137838
Sorry, I'm dumb when it comes to these things
Do I disconect from my own internet to plug a cord in, or...?
>>343138564
You plug it in the back of your router and the other end to the back the 360 but I suggest you get a 360 E model. Your 360 is an early model (no wi-fi or HDMI ports) so it's a ticking time bomb for the RROD.
>>343133389
Gta v was best on the ps3 tho
>>343138564
>>343138969
I think you mean PC
