>>
>>343119969
Yeah sure they could make an absolutely amazing this and that and flesh out x and upscale y, but then when they release it they would be hit with a wave of people who cannot run the game optimally, pics like in the OP would bring most "common" casual gamer's computers to a stand still. This is why Bethesda goes for a simple yet performance friendly route.

Don't blame them, they are just trying to make software that will actually run on 90% of their audiences machines.
>>
>>343120075

Because Bethesda cares about a shallow aesthetic (without even understanding how to use it effectively) more than consistency, subtlety, or logic.
>>
>>343119194

The only reason why their games sell are casual that don't care for anything and mods.

>>
>>343118145
It runs like absolute ass though. Especially because of how the game actually need to keep track of all the pieces of the building block when loading in and out.

If the city is homogenized into a couple of block pieces, it would improve performance quite a bit.

They're not even going to make a game. You start the game as a "!" block in a flat worldspace.

6 months later, they'll release a broken, half-working barely functional CK and force players to make the game.

It'll be lauded as a 10/10 revolutionary RPG that changes the face of Open World RPGs forever.
>>
>>343120816
They probably aren't going to make TESVI until VR is a little more fleshed out. I'm guessing they'll finally start on a 3rd IP, either licensed or original, at least legally.

Diamond City is very flat and not all that interesting, considering the idea of a city built within a baseball field could've been something really cool.

Megaton was at least interesting in idea, concept, and execution, and had more verticality than Diamond City does.

no, but mutations caused by exposure to extensive amounts of radiation (like what survivors of the blasts would receive over decades living in the wastelends) will have disastrous impact on their children. humans would essentially be degenerating into a race of genuinely, literally retarded and malformed humans. the problem is that the radiactive fallout is everywhere. it's in the soil where you grow your crops; it's in the water you drink; it's in the dust you inhale. the generation of those who survive the blast may be "okay," but the genetic consequences of each resulting generation will be horrendous. what affect this will have dozens of generations down the line to 200+ years after the bombs dropped, i don't really know. maybe some of the genetic mutations would be on their way out. i'm not an expert in the field. i would definitely imagine that a good deal of the population 100 or so years after the bombs fell would be literally, retarded, though.
