You're in for some great atmosphere, music, and writing for the first hour or three.
Then you'll get bored since the platforming is all the same after the first few areas.

The last good Schafer game, and one that he's coasted upon for years now. It's a wonderfully designed platformer in every area, except the gameplay, which is the weakest part.
Also be sure to grind out the arrowheads, because you'll get to worlds where they stop you in your tracks and say, "You should have this item and if you don't go save up 500 arrowheads and buy it then come back" and those parts are bullshit.
Also the underwater section is total horseshit, design wise.

The platforming's finicky, but I thought it got the job done once you get the hang of it. Getting it to work during a time limit in the final sections was pretty grating though.
it's really very good, and it even makes for a good collect-a-thon if you want it to be one

Psychonauts is amazing, you can spend hours reading through all this, the lore of each characters, the unbelieveable amount of detail put in the game
