I never played a Resident Evil game before. Should I get this? Or RE5? I hear 5 was better, what say you /v/?

I mean, Capcom is re-releasing them from 6 to 4. The order in which you play them hardly matters. Each feels like an isolated experience gameplay-wise.

If this is your first RE, I'd suggest 5 out of those two. Way less to wrap your head around plot wise, and a good jumping on point. 6's plot is pretty reliant on knowing the character's histories.

Honestly, 4 was the best one hands down. In my opinion they get worse with each new game, but they're not bad games overall. I'm hoping 7 can return to a more unsettling atmosphere like in 4, instead of the action movie setting of 5 and 6.
